On a baby grand piano it's upside down like normal. And the theme and solo stacks are probably shot like mine. So man up and take it out....
To get it out is rather simple. First you remove the linkages to the theme and solo levers. And there is a trick here: The bolts have to come loose first.
Yes, the lever itself IS threaded, and the bolt serves as a locking bolt. So don't just unscrew or it will be HELL. Instead loosen the bolt and remove it, then remove the screw, then put the bolt back on the screw so you don't lose the felt washer, and the metal washer.
Now with those off remove the various lines from the unit. You don't want to rip them off as it comes down.
Now you drop it. First you remove the guard, that's easy. Put the screws back in the holes. Then you loosen the three screws a bit, then you have to hold the damn thing up as you remove the back screws, then the front one. I found that the bracket under the two theme pneumatics worked. Don't TOUCH the tan thing under the two bellows, it will NOT SUPPORT WEIGHT.
Then lower it onto your stomach. Thud, glad I have a bit of a pot belly.
Ok, it's out. Next we can put in the new theme accordion, and pull out what's left of accompaniment for rebuild.
